Exhausted. Scared. + Excited

I guess I really dropped the ball in making a post everyday, I suppose that's what this blog is about. Excusing myself for those moments and coming into some kind of realization.

Isn't it wonderful how life can get in the way? Chickens, breakups, new jobs, new roommates. Not sure what to focus on right now. It seems like I've been saying a lot of goodbyes lately as well. And now more than ever ,time seems so vast and daunting. What do you do when shit hits the fan. Make lemonade? I'm pretty sure I got that wrong.

Hooray for Openings!

I'm so excited, exhausted and thankful to be showcasing my artwork (about my grandma) in  AAWAA's  Emerging Curator Program "Hungry Ghost". It's in the Presidio so it's a bit out of the ways for non- car drivers but It'll be up for two months. I hope some peeps can make it out for tomorrow though. Opening Receptions are always fun, good food + good art = can't complain.

I really like this picture of me setting up :)

So in order to avoid another meltdown, I've been surrounding myself with wonderful people( you guys know who you are... and I thank you immensely) and of course staying busy with the art.
I would love if you'd join me this coming Saturday the 3rd at 111 Minna Gallery in SF.

Hoping for something good

So I've been in the slumps lately. A handful of you know why... but I'm doing better. At least I think I am? haha :(

made this flyer for my new project
PROJECT : MEXICO (pretty creative right? he he)
I'm heading to Mexico City this Saturday to spend five glorious days with my dear friend and in the process I'm pushing my limits. I'm relatively shy and in a country where i don't speak the language well, I will be on my utmost timidness. So as a socially conscience/ pushing my limits kind of art project I will be giving 10 strangers my art for free. That's right for free, because what is art if it can't be enjoyed by everyone. So to my lovely Californian's I bid you adieu (for a weekend) and to the grand people of Mexico City I can't wait to meet you.

getting over disappointment

No bueno on that art submission. I have to admit... I was in a pretty low spot. Relationships, art, life in general seemed so dramatic and glum. Alas! I got over it. Someone once told my sister (which she than told me) " It's okay, failure is an option." That's it...everything will be okay.

This morning I sit in an empty (packed up) bedroom thinking 'today's going to be beautiful'

Newest work!

With a little discipline and some delicious vegan chorizo to keep me company
I made the deadline to submit work for Neither Here Nor There. Wish me luck!
